Our CEO, Justin Danko, spent years researching alternatives to traditional fossil-fuel-based plastic products. Manuel Medina, our Chief Manufacturing & Innovations Officer and a veteran of the plastics and pulp-molding industries, had been investing in research and development of technologies to reduce the environmental impact of plastic products. They joined forces to re-engineer raw materials for plastic products and make them less harmful to the environment.

Our Mission

Reducing, Reusing, and Recycling Will Not be Enough to Combat the Plastic Problem

“We recognized that we need to fundamentally rethink how we make and how we dispose of plastic products because changing human behavior on a global scale is virtually impossible. Puro Renewables fully supports reduce, reuse, and recycling initiatives. But we also need to face the reality that these initiatives will not be enough to solve the plastic problem. We need solutions to reduce our reliance on fossil-fuel resins and embrace alternatives that drastically reduce CO2 emissions immediately and ensure that plastic products will be able to bio-assimilate if they are not recyclable.”

(Justin Danko, CEO of Puro Renewables)

What We are Doing to Overcome the Challenge

Puro Renewables is driven by a belief that businesses and consumers have become ‘addicted to plastic’ and are not prepared to stop using them. Because of this, we need to change the way we think about plastics from raw material through to end-of-life without sacrificing function or quality.

Using abundant bio-renewable materials and patent-pending processes, Puro Renewables has been able to develop practical and affordable solutions for the world’s great manufacturers, brands, and distributors allowing them to continue creating products everyone wants while reducing their reliance on fossil fuels, reducing their carbon footprint, and reducing the long term impact of their plastic waste if it cannot be recycled.
